About the Chef
Chef Sonny “The Hip Hop Cater” homed his culinary skills while working in a historically classic restaurant in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania known as Eddies Restaurant. Eddies Restaurant was the focus of the play "Two Trains Running" by award winning playwright August Wilson

The main character in the play, Memphis Lee, his role was based on the owner of Eddie’s Restaurant, Eddie Owens. Eddie was Chef Sonny's cousin. Eddies Restaurant was the place to eat when in Pittsburgh. Eddies was frequent by many Jazz greats, politicians, civil rights leaders, and professional athletes. In 1982, Sonny “The Hip Hop Cater” started working as a dishwasher. He worked his way up to Head Chef. Along with being a culinary chef, Chef Sonny “The Hip Hop Cater” also became a Hip Hop fanatic. As a youth, Chef Sonny “The Hip Hop Cater” started as a break-dancer, then a rapper, to a Producer and Manager. Chef Sonny has an Associate of Arts and Information Technology from the University of Phoenix and is currently completing his Bachelor’s degree in Film Production from Georgia State University. Chef Sony has combined his love for the culinary and Hip Hop to create a fusion of fun and exciting food dishes for all to enjoy.
